UNSW - Mission For Earth Habitation Live Experience

Collider Studio was engaged by Howatson + Company to create an immersive experience for UNSW Open Day, with 40,000 prospective students in attendance. The brief was to focus young minds on solving some of earth’s biggest challenges, from climate change to healthcare and social inclusion.

Hossein worked with a number of client stakeholders to ensure the experience covered a broad range academic focuses for the university and the surrounding messaging adhered to each faculty’s mission.

The result was an immersive audio visual experience, formed of original 3D printed and CNC carved sculptures, light installations and a two minute mission film that would encapsulate all of the opportunities students would have to join not just a course, but a cause.

Working with Creative Director Andrew van der Westhuyzen, Hossein oversaw the production process from pitch, to design, fabrication, animation, review and eventual installation over a 6 week planning period. The experience took place in September 2022 at the University’s open day to a resounding reception from students, resulting in the highest number of course applications in the previous five years.

Mission For Earth Habitation was shortlisted for a 2023 D&AD award for Best Experience.
