Specsavers x Fred Hollows Foundation Campaign

94% of vision loss in First Nations adults is preventable or treatable. The Fred Hollows Foundation aims to end avoidable blindness, with an annual campaign with Specsavers. Collider Studio was approached by AJF to create a film to raise awareness of this issue. Hossein managed production across the project for a number of film and retail stills deliverables.

Working with the foundation and First Nations artist Helen Dale Samson, we set out to film Helen on Country nearby her art studio to show the landscape through her eyes. Indigenous director Karla Hart shot the film over three days in Western Australia. Using photogrammetry for a study of raw forms of the landscape like trees, rock faces, anthills, a deep gorge, all provided forms to create a motivation for Helen’s paintings to grow over these natural elements. Vibrant animations were mapped over the 3D scans creating an insight into the artists vision. These also became the artwork for a set of special edition Specsavers glasses which in turn helped raise funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation.
